Good and Perfect

God gives us such an amazing promise: all things from Him are good and perfect! Unfortunately, “good and perfect” can sometimes seem be on the other side of the desert, a raging sea, or seemingly endless years of emptiness and even death. But today’s scripture reminds us that we can be certain that He will bring us out of these dark times and will be good, perfect and true. In those days, we do not have to search or justify or even second guess it. We never have to worry about its authenticity because we will recognize His voice.

What looks to like an exhausting, impossible, uncertain journey is really a road of healing. A road of healing we can not see down. Our inability to see does not make the journey less orchestrated. The journey is detailed and fits perfectly to our step and one day we will see it.

This sacrifice of passionately waiting is all about intimacy. It is intimacy with Him who made every faucet of who we are. He knows the desires He has hard wired in our hearts. He promises in the waiting He will bring His goodness. The goodness He is orchestrating now in the waiting has been orchestrated throughout each of our stories. The intimacy is where we are with Him. It is bringing those desires to Him and wrestling and weeping through them with Him. It is found in the raw conversation and seeking to let His voice ring loud and clear inside of us when He says, “This is the way. Walk in it.”

Thoughts to Ponder:

  • How intimate of a relationship do you have with Jesus?
  • Is Jesus truly the number one in your heart?
  • What are you wrestling with or weeping through?
  • What desires are in your heart and are they from Him?
  • In the season of waiting are seeking Him or have you given up and washed out?
