How tempting is it when trails and temptations come, to want to lean on yourself? I know there is that reaction to want to lean on your own understanding, logic, experience, and strength. Our strength, as humans, is limited. It is so limited that we can only go for so long before we burn ourselves out.
Jesus has the supernatural strength that supersedes that natural or physical strength within us. We can move forward in His strength for as long as we need. We have a gas tank that quickly moves to empty when we love on our own in our own strength. Jesus, fills our tanks with a supernatural strength that keeps going as long as we need!
It is by His strength and mighty power, that when we lean upon Him, gets us through a situation or circumstance because the strength of the Lord is unlimited and powerful.
Staying rooted in Jesus and His Word is key! No matter what circumstances you are in the middle of, it is His strength and Word that allows us to be in that position and lean upon His help, leading, to keep going. IN the toughest, darkest moments is when we need to lean upon Him because His strength will never fail or falter through those difficult times.
But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.Psalm 3:3
Jesus is the lifter of our heads!
I want to encourage you to lean on Jesus today and His strength today and He will see you through to the other side victoriously!
Things to Ponder:
- Do you tend to lean on yourself when things get tough?
- What struggles do you face when it comes to leaning on Jesus and letting His strength carry you?
- What encouragement did you find in today’s scripture?
