You are the daughter of a king!
What does that mean to you?
How amazing is it that we are called His children?
How did we get adopted by God? Because of the love of God in Jesus, He shed His precious blood for you to be called a child of God. We have become part of God’s royal family. We are adopted as His! This means that the Lord God almighty is your Heavenly Father!
Our Heavenly Father takes full responsibility for each one of His children. He sees each child as a prized possession. You are a treasure to Him!
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:9
When Peter spoke these words through the Holy Spirit he was quoting what God had before stated!
You are chosen!
For you are a holy people belonging to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be his own possession out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.
Deuteronomy 7:6
You are a saint!
and you will be my kingdom of priests and my holy nation.’ These are the words that you are to say to the Israelites.”
Exodus 19:6
(Bold for emphases)
But you will be called the Lord’s priests;
they will speak of you as ministers of our God;
you will eat the wealth of the nations,
and you will boast in their riches.Isaiah 61:6
(Bold for emphases)
Sometimes we put great men and women of God on pedestals and think that their sainthood is unattainable… but how untrue this is. A child of God is called a saint. We were given the task to be the Lord’s Saints!
You are a citizen to a Holy Nation!
and you will be my kingdom of priests and my holy nation.’ These are the words that you are to say to the Israelites.”
Exodus 19:6
(Bold for emphases)
You are treasured and valued!
Now if you will carefully listen to me and keep my covenant, you will be my own possession out of all the peoples, although the whole earth is mine,
Exodus 19:5
(Bold for emphasis)
The King James version says a “peculiar people.” Many preach or teach that we are supposed to be a different sort of people – peculiar. Did you know this is false in reference to 1 Peter 2:9? The original Greek word is a fishing term that means valued or treasured cargo. The Lord was not saying go be different. He was stating that we are HIS valued treasure and cargo! When King James translated the scriptures, peculiar meant a valued treasure or cargo. Today, English has evolved the meaning to mean odd or different.
As a child of God we are to sing praises and worship our Heavenly Father because He has chosen us! He has taken on the role as protector, provider and loving us!
Never think for one moment that you are neglected or abandoned because God is not a liar!
Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the one who will go with you; he will not leave you or abandon you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6
God the Father loves you and cherishes you as His daughter!
A huge stumbling block can be the environments and people we grew up in and with. I want to encourage you today to just come to Jesus. Open your heart up to the Lord and allow Him to embrace you and fill your cup overflowing with love. Our Heavenly Father will never treat you as your earthy parents or those who have hurt you and caused you pain and suffering.
