God knew you before you were born (first knot). He got this wonderful idea that He desired to create you. All that you are is the splendor and creation of our Heavenly Father.
God (purple bead) came to your first because He loved you first.

We are like sheep (white bead) we have all gone stray and are need of a shepherd.

Jesus (purple bead) calls our name, and asks to be our Good Shepherd.

If you have never accepted and received Christ as your savior, you can read all about the Gospel of Jesus.
When we receive Christ as our Savior He (purple bead) lets us lie down in green pastures (green bead). His pasture is life sustaining. He not only provides for our physical needs, but our emotional and spiritual needs. EVERYTHING we deeply need is filled by Jesus through His spirit.
He leads us beside still waters (blue bead). The water Jesus leads us to is life sustaining water of truth. The river of truth flows through us. We never thirst when we seek His waters.
He lets me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside quiet waters.
Psalms 23:2
He restores my soul (clear bead) and leads us along the path of righteousness.
He renews my life;
he leads me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
Psalm 23:3
Even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, trials, fire, and tribulation (black bead) He will never leave me, nor forsake me. Through every trial and every sorrow, every joy, and every failure, He is with you (purple bead). You never have to be afraid or be discouraged!
8 The Lord is the one who will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
4 Even when I go through the darkest valley,
I fear no danger,
for you are with me…
Psalms 23:4
His rod of correction and staff of leading and guiding are a comfort to us. He invites us to his table of fellowship with Him (wooden/brown bead).
…your rod and your staff—they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;

He anoints us with oil that tells us we are his friend and His oil brings healing to oue suffering and pain (orange bead).
…you anoint my head with oil..
Psalms 23:5
He (purple bead) fills my cup with His love, grace and mercy and it overflows and splashes and falls on all around me. I can only love through His love. I can only give grace and mercy when I have received His grace and mercy. Because of His forgiveness, I can forgive others. (pink/red bead) His love and faithfulness will persue and follow me all the days of my life.

6 Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me

Psalms 23:5
I can be confident of all these things because He (purple) is perfect in love. Perfect in faithfulness. His promises never fail. Jesus is the same yesterday, as He is today, as he will be tomorrow!
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8
Because He faithful, we will one day be called home to spend the rest of eternity (yellow/gold bead) with Him (purple bead) and the good work he promised to start in me is finished, and I have fulfilled my purpose (last knot).
6 I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6
