New Character Study Guide: Abraham

What I love most about having the opportunity to study God’s Word and share it with you all is that I never know where it is going to go! I got the idea of studying individual characters awhile ago. I love to look at all the individual people mentioned in God’s Word and using them as a mirror to my own heart.

Admittedly, if we were tell the story of this family, we should have started with Abraham. But I had no idea where the Lord was going to take this journey. We can’t tell Leah’s story without telling Rachel’s story. We can’t tell the sister’s story without telling Jacob’s story. And we Can’t tell Jacob’s story without going back to the start to Abraham. As we continue journeying through the life of this family, one thing is certain. Their dysfunction may have looked different, but at its heart, it is still the same today. This is true in our families, relationships, and selves.

Abraham’s life resonates with profound lessons in faith and unwavering obedience. It also reflects a fierce trust in God’s promises, even during life’s worst adversities. He passionately exemplifies the necessity of acting boldly on faith. He is relentless in his belief that God’s power will bring His promises to fruition. His extraordinary journey shows the importance of courageously leaving the familiar. It highlights the need to embrace a higher calling—God’s magnificent purpose.

We are going to study the life of Abraham and focus on these key points:

  • Faith and Obedience
  • Trusting God’s Promises
  • Taking action based in Faith
  • Willingness to Sacrifice
  • Learning from Mistakes
  • Leaving a Legacy

Each section ends with an opportunity to ponder deep insightful questions about ourselves and our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Download your free workbook today and take a journey into getting to know the Father of Faith and what his life has to teach us about faith, trust and obedience! There is also a free printable SOAP journal to use as you study the scriptures.
