5 This was not made known to people in other generations as it is now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit: 6 The Gentiles are coheirs, members of the same body, and partners in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.
Ephesians 3:5-6
In Old Testament times, the concept that the Gentiles and Jews would be one was a mystery. There were some hints that all people would have the opportunity to receive salvation. Salvation would be for everyone. But even so, Jews did not expect that Gentiles would have exactly the same level or position as they did. The prophets tried to understand these things, but they were hidden even from them at that time. God’s plan cannot be known apart from His special revelation. At that time, for whatever reason, He had not yet revealed it.
Now He has unveiled the profound mystery! He shared it with Paul and the other apostles, as well as a select group of New Testament prophets. Through their voices, the veil has lifted, allowing everyone to grasp this extraordinary part of God’s divine plan!
The revelation of this profound mystery illuminates our path, ensuring we are never left in the shadows. We stand in an extraordinary era, a time of unparalleled privilege! We have more knowledge about God and His magnificent plan than any generation throughout history. This stretches back to Adam. We have the complete Bible. It showers us with divine insight into God’s purposes. It reveals His workings in the world. Let us enthusiastically commit ourselves to the study of His Word. Let us tune in to His voice. Let us embrace the extraordinary journey He has laid before us!
