Are you a positive influence in the lives of others?
Today’s scripture we look at the life of Manoah’s wife, Sampson’s mother, and how she was able to encourage and inspire her husband with her faith.
You do not have to speak on stage before great audiences, write a book, have a thriving business, or a huge social media following to influence others. Influence happens in our everyday lives. At the dinner table. In the living room. The local coffee shop. During small group meetings. We influence our family members, neighbors, co-workers, and friends by our actions, words and choices.
God does not give us our insights, gifts, and talents to use for our own personal and selfish gain. He is much more concerned with how we use these to serve Him and bless others. (Colossians 3:23; 1 Peter 4:10)
In the book of Judges, Sampson’s father was afraid the Lord was going to kill him and his wife. His wife courageously and gently encouraged her knowledge of God with her unwavering faith.
Courageously Influence others by removing obstacles:
- Do not allow your past to discourage you from being a positive influence.
- Do not allow your weaknesses to distract you from being an encourager.
- DO not allow the opinions of others to keep you from being an inspiration.
- Do not allow fear to stop you from sharing your faith and leading others to Christ.
God wants to lead and encourages those who misunderstand Him, His Word and ways. He does this by giving us the courage to gently lead them to the truth.
Who do you influence?
Evaluate the ways in which you influence others and determine if it is in alignment with God and His Word.
