Today’s scripture inspires us to take that step courageously that God is asking you to take. Today we will learn about the action steps you can take to pursue the gifts and talents God has given you for victory in your life.

Very well She said. Deborah took a huge risk and courageously chose courage.

How can we maintain courage even when life gets difficult?

Courage is an attribute of integrity. It gives us the strength to make better decisions in the midst of fearful and difficult situations.

We all need courage for something, can we agree on that? Depending upon our own individual circumstances and situations, there are different types of courage needed. From physical endurance to mental stamina and innovation. My favorite definition of courage is “taking a risk and trusting God with the outcome.”

The first step in a new direction is just that. Taking a risk and leaving it up to God. It is the hardest step to take. We do not know the outcome and we tend to let fear hold out feet still. Maybe you need to submit your application for a new job, schedule an appointment with a Christian counselor, or agree to forgive someone who has hurt you deeply. No matter what God s encouraging you to do, you can not do it in your own strength and courage. It comes from His strength and courage. Do not let fear steal you from experiencing the joy and freedom God is calling you to embrace.

God wants us to face life with courage, hope, and unwavering faith.

God’s Word offers numerous accounts of courageous women and men who lives are inspire us to make better choices and to live more courageously.

Deborah is our example today. She was a wife, prophetess, ruler, and a warrior. She was the fifth judge over Israel, appointed by God to lead the people out of bondage. Deborah courageously led the army into battle against an enemy that outnumbered them ten to one. This was a God size courage she had. Think about it. Ten to one they were outnumbered. She exercised great courage, maintained confidence in God’s deliverance, and was known in the land for being a female warrior who God used to deliver and rescue Israel.

Courageously choose courage by:

  • Seek and embrace godly counsel.
  • Fast and pray. Ask God for courage and guidance.
  • Place confidence in God’s plan. Take action, even if you are afraid.
  • Trust God with the outcome.

God allows us to experience life situations that require unwavering faith and God given courage. If we rely on Him, He will lead us into His victory.

What courageous action or change is God calling you to make?

Set aside your fear, embrace God given courage, and take that first step today!
