Courageously Sharing Truth with Others

Today is the day we are going to be bold and nix the excuses!

Today’s scriptures inspire us to share our faith with others. Looking at the story of the Samaritan woman and her encounter with Jesus helps us overcome our fear so we can boldly share Jesus with others.

25 The woman said to him, “I know that the Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
26 Jesus told her, “I, the one speaking to you, am he.”

John 4:25-26,28

In recent days, what is something you learned that you were so excited to share with others?

I learned that you can use a cordless drill to raise and lower a trailer hitch. We call these tidbits “life hacks.” thinks that you think “no way….” and then when you try them, they make life easier or a task easier. When we discover these things we want to show others. When we experience the change, we can’t wait to share our experience. What about “life hacks” that we experience that change our lives? Are we just as excited to share our encounter with Jesus in hopes others will experience it, also?

Our primary biblical command is to “go and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19). Yet, sharing our salvation can be one of the hardest experiences to share – often because we are afraid. We fear conflict. We fear others will not believe because of our past. We need to regularly challenge ourselves to overcome this fear.

None of these excuses kept the woman at the well from sharing her faith. In John 4 we read the encounter between Jesus and this woman. This woman was a sinner, ashamed of her life style to the point she dd not gather water in the cool of the morning. Instead she gathered water in the middle of the day. The hottest part of the day she hefted heavy water jugs to avoid the other women.

But on this day, she met the Messiah. He changed her life forever! In response and spite of her reputation, she boldly ran back to her village to tell everyone. She was filled with strength and courage and she became the first woman evangelist of the city of Samaria.

Courageously Share your Faith by Practicing the following:

  • Pray and ask God for the courage and opportunity to share your faith.
  • Be aware at all times of others in need of encouragement.
  • Practice sharing your faith with someone you feel safe with.
  • Put aside hesitation and start a conversation with someone by asking how you can pray for them.

We are strong and courageous when we overcome our fear and choose to share our faith!

Remember it is the Holy Spirit that convicts the person’s heart, not you. You are just the vessel in which He uses to speak. Not everyone will be interested in what you have to say, but do not give up.

Will you share your faith today?

Look for opportunities to tell others about the hope you found.
