Hiding

Sometimes we are lacking in a intimate relationship with God because we are hiding. We hide because there is sin we do not want to give up. We hide because of something we are experiencing is difficult. Sometimes we hide because because we are questioning God’s love for us. We are questioning His trustworthiness.

Come out of hiding, you’re safe here with me
There’s no need to cover what I already see
You’ve got your reasons, but I hold your peace
You’ve been on lockdown and I hold the key
‘Cause I loved you before you knew it was love
And I saw it all, still, I chose the cross
And you were the one that I was thinking of
When I rose from the grave
Now rid of the shackles, my victory’s yours
I tore the veil for you to come close
There’s no reason to stand at a distance anymore
You’re not far from home

Recently I had gone through a really tough time and this song was really meaningful to me. It was the reminder I needed. I needed to remind myself that God’s love, goodness and safety was all around me. He was greater than the shame I felt. He was greater than the heartache and burdens I had.

There’s another part of the song that says,

And oh, as you run
What hindered love
Will only become
Part of the story
And oh, as you run
What hindered love
Will only become
Part of the story
And oh, as you run
What hindered love
Will only become
Part of the story
And oh, as you run
What hindered love
Will only become
Part of the story

Our scripture today reminds us who we can hide in. He invites us to hide within Him who is our strong tower and in Him is every kind of protection we need. No matter what season, we can run to Him!

Thoughts to Ponder:

  • Are you hiding from the Lord?
  • How does this scripture challenge your heart? DO you need to run to the Lord today?
