Delight and Meditate

There is a beautiful promise written in Psalms 1. If we delight and meditate on the Word of God, whatever we do will prosper. To delight in and to meditate on, means that we are thinking about and turning over God’s Word in our minds daily.

Our scripture in Hebrews says, the Word of God is living. It is active. It is powerful. AS we think and ponder on the Word of God, our minds are renewed and the decisions we make change. This affects our emotions, too! When we make decisions and choices based on the Word of God, we have a sense of peace, joy and delight. According to God’s Word, these contribute to a “prosperous life!”

I challenge us to not only study our scripture reading plan, but to take our favorite scriptures and read it a few times each morning. Copy it word-for-word. Meditate on it. Turn it over n your mind and begin to put it to practice. Record the changes it makes in your thoughts, decisions, and emotions.

The way to a closer relationship with Jesus is to spend time in the Word of God. God’s Word is a love letter to us from Him.

Thoughts to Ponder:

  • IN what ways are you delighting and meditating on God’s Word?
