Say Power and Grace

People “in between” two normals are courageous and willing to ask the tough questions.

What do I believe?

How can I experience my faith in a deeper way?

How do I draw nearer to God?

How to surrender complete control to the Holy Spirit?

How do I practice obedience to God?

Yesterday, in Acts 3, we encountered a nameless man who was lame from birth. Peter healed him in the name of Jesus. Today’s scripture reveals, the religious leaders were not happy.

After they had Peter and John stand before them, they began to question them: “By what power or in what name have you done this?”

Acts 4:7

They challenged Peter’s power to heal. What was the real source of their powerful experience? The hint can be found here.

33 With great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was on all of them.

Acts 4:33

There is “God’s grace” to meet their needs and “great power” to overcome challenges in life! But it begs the question, what was the source behind such power and grace? The answer is, they testified to the resurrection of Jesus. This is the missing part for so many Christians. As Christians, we experience two things that keep us in mediocre: sin and death. Look how Jesus’ resurrection defeated them!

First, the power of the resurrection defeated death. Because of Jesus we are no longer under the power of satan. We do not need to follow the dark path of evil anymore.

Second, the grace from resurrection brings forgiveness. God no longer keeps a record of our wrong doing or counts sin against us when we truly repent, ask for forgiveness and turn away from it.

14 For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under the law but under grace.

Romans 6:14

This is so radical that “sin shall not rule over you” anymore!

We do not need to sin anymore! We are now a new creation. The old is gone, and the “new us” is here!

If we allow God to change our perspective, this “in between” is a blessing in disguise. Restlessness, an unpredictable future, with a heightened sense of urgency creates a vacuum that gets us to look within and examine our hearts.

Perhaps God is allowing you to surface out your “sin and death” so that the “power and grace” can be released!

  • Are there an residual “sin” or “dark path” that are still following you?
  • How can you experience God’s power and grace in a deeper way?
