You are the Light and Salt

We all add flavor to this world. Food without salt is bland and has no taste, but once you add salt, it changes the taste completely and its enjoyable to eat. Jesus is teaching us that that we add more to the world than we think we do. There are people on the other side of your obedience waiting to hear your testimony and wanting someone like you in their life to help them. God did not just willy nilly our place and purpose. He never put us here without having intention for our lives or to not use us to make a difference in the lives of others. He created you to be a difference maker!

The light of Christ is not to be hidden When we step into our daily lives around others, they notice a difference about each of us. The gifts that God has placed within each of us shines through as we use them. Kindness towards others and walking in love with others is the light of Christ shinning through. This is not something that the world is used to, and when we are all operating in God’s God-given purpose and calling we shine even brighter.

Sister, can I encourage you to shine bright for Jesus? Don’t allow the enemy to make you feel like you have to hide your gifts and talents and who Christ has made you to be to “please others.” It is time to be the Gospel of Jesus and allow His light to flow through to others to draw others closer to Christ.

  • Are you blending in with the dull “flavor” of the world?
  • Are you hiding your gifts or talents because of fear?
  • How can you become the salt of the earth and a light for others?
  • What has challenged you in today’s scripture or what has encouraged you?
