You are Equipped.

Jesus dwells within us through the Holy Spirit! If I have nothing more to praise, I make sure I praise the Lord for this! Can you all believe how good God really is? Not only did He send His Son to died for you and I to be reconciled back to Him, He also promised that we would have a Helper and a Comforter. He promised that we would have a guide and a teacher! Not just any old guide and teacher but one that would stay with us day and night and through all of our lives and circumstances. A guide that has all of the power of heaven with Him!

But that was not enough! He gives us the His Word for us to be fully equipped for every situation that comes! Look down at God’s Word this morning.

DO you realize everything you need to know is within the pages of His Word?

All of life’s instructions are within the pages of His Word. I read a little meme awhile back that said “Bible” stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. It is so crucial that we stay plugged into the Word of God daily. This is our weapon to fight the enemy. God is never going to tell us to do or say anything that is contrary to His Word, but how are we going to know what is contrary if we just rely on others to tell us what it says.

I am in no way saying to not listen and consider what others share, but we need to be in God’s Word on our own. I know it is intimidating! There’s so much treasure it is hard to see the individual bits when there is a whole lot. If we do not know what God’s Word says, the enemy can use this against us.

Can I share something terrible with you? I seriously believed there was no way anyone could pretend to be a Christian. I mean what on earth does someone gain by lying about it? I assumed that God would strike dead anyone who lied about it and I never had any reason to ever question someone. I did raise an eyebrow when someone who obviously did not follow the teachings professed it, but who am I to judge? I thought false teachers were like the obvious cult leaders who perverted God’s Word is gross disgusting ways. What I learned is that it is much broader and deeper than that. You know how I learned? Picking up the Word of God and digging into it.

I do not judge salvation of others but I am careful to watch them closely in their words and actions. Do their actions back up their word. What sort of fruit are the producing. I got a good chuckle out of a pastor saying we are not to cast the stones but we are encouraged to be fruit inspectors. It is not that I do not want to be friends, it is the case that I will not let you influence me.

When God calls us to something, He is going to equip us to do it the right way through His Word. He is going to give us everything we need: encouragement, strength, wisdom, guidance and so much more. God is going to provide everything we need and He is going to provide what He places within us to get the job done.

Whatever you need at this very moment, I want to encourage you to go to the Lord and ask Him for it. Start digging deep within His Word daily and ask the Lord for a deeper revelation of wisdom. Wisdom is putting knowledge to action. He hears and He answers.

  • What is your honest assessment of yourself and your time in God’s Word? Has it become a ritual or a feast?
  • Where do you get your wisdom from? The world or the Word of God?
  • What about today’s scripture challenges or encourages you?
