Christmas is about power and majesty of our Lord and Savior and King. Jesus is the ONLY rightful One to claim the throne and usher in a new kingdom. But it is not just about power and majesty. It is about humility and service. It is about the motivation through love to act in humility to serve others.
Jesus gave up His position of glory and the worship of angels to be become humility so He could serve mankind. Think about that for a moment. He chose to leave all the glory and splendor of Heaven, His heavenly Father, where everything was perfect. No sin. No tears. No hate. No ugliness. Perfection. He left it all behind because He was motivated through His Father’s love to come to this existence to serve us!
Jesus was born to die for us. He emptied Himself of all of the glory and riches of heaven and traded divine strength for human weakness. The salvation for sinners came with a cost. It came with a great cost. Christmas was never something deserved, it is a staggering display of God’s love for us.
Ponder: Do you typically think of God’s power or humility during Christmas?
