Response to God’s Word: belief or disbelief?

I have often wondered what that scene on the hillside looked like when the angel came to the shepherds tending their flocks. The night time sky broke open and angels surrounded them in the glory of the Lord singing praises to God. The angels came to announce the good news. A Savior had been born in the city and His salvation was for ALL people. The shepherds responded the same way the angels did. They worshiped!

They rushed through the fields to the city. When they encountered the stable they were not turned away by the smelly conditions. There, in that stable lay the long awaited Savior. Jesus was the Messiah who had come to save all people from sin. After the shepherds returned, they glorified and worshiped God and spoke to everyone the things they had seen. and been told.

Ponder: Why do you think the shepherds immediately responded in worship rather than doubt or confusion?
