One of the most basic and important principles in our lives that we can learn is obedience. When we obey, God will pour His blessings out upon us. We get to experience His blessing through obedience.

All the Lord’s ways show faithful love and truth to those who keep his covenant and decrees.
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭25‬:‭10‬ ‭CSB‬‬

When we decide to not obey, we miss out on the blessing He has in store for us.

Where to we begin with obedience? I have found that the more familiar I become with God’s Word, the more I began to understand the importance of obedience. God’s ways are not designed to deprive us of pleasure or prosperity. God’s ways are intended to protect us fro:hurting ourselves and others and to guide us toward the fulfillment in life He wants us to enjoy.

When we encounter daily pressure of temptations, we are tempted on a deeper level. The devil doesn’t care about what sin he tempts us with. He desires that we compromise scripture. That is the whole point and purpose of temptation. He wants us to favor self-reliance and worldly solutions.

Can one of us has God-given desires and appetites, which He can satisfy or we can compromise His principles and chooses selfish harmful ways. All through out our lives we are going to encounter opposition to biblical living. Obedience to God is a commitment to Him.

Obeying often involves choices that we fear could result in rejection, loss, or hardship. Satan knows how to exploit these fears and often we find ourselves pulling back because we allow the fear to overtake our spiritual common sense. We fear unwanted confirmation will come from following Christ. Obedience requires courage. Those who are not obedient are cowards. It does not matter how difficult the situation is, we can respond with confidence in the One who empowers us to do His will. Can anyone point to an example of God having made a mistake, been too late, or not inadequate? Our Heavenly Father is all-powerful and consistently faithful.

The principles of Scripture are very profound yet simple. The Bible teaches us that what we reap, we will sow.

Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a person sows he will also reap, because the one who sows to his flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭CSB‬‬

When we obey God, we always get His best. When we obey ourselves, life will turn out to be much less that it could be and much harder than it has to be.

We do not always do what we should, but that is why God’s grace is mighty and powerful. Making a commitment to obey God is essential to our faith. Obedience and faith are inseparable to each other. Our obedience is a demonstration of our trust in abide by complying with His Will. When we obey, we reap the rewards He designed for us and we hit the mark every time!
