Do you trust Gods with all of your life?
Our Heavenly Father is our Creator and He knows all of us. He knows all of our weaknesses. He knows our Strengths. He knows every little detail you try and hide from others. He knows everything because He created us! He also knows the desires of our heart. He knows the truth if we truly desire Him or if it is all lip serve as Jesus said many of His followers were doing. They claimed to love him, but did not. God is not like us humans. Even when we think we have failed Him, He is quick to receive you and prove His love to you.
After Christ was crucified an interesting, somewhat surprising turn of events happen. The disciples returned to their old lives and old way of doing things. Stead of living by faith and continuing where Jesus had left off as He commanded them, they went right back on the sea to fish (John 21:3-4).
Have you ever wondered how God views our lack of faith?
Is is certain no matter how much unbelief, doubt, or fear we have, He will never condemn us.
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus,”
Romans 8:1 CSB
Jesus’ presence on the shore was enough for Peter and the others to know that it was time to stop being distracted by the voices of the world. Before Jesus had gone to the cross He told the disciples he would return to them, and He fulfilled His promise. God has kept every single promise He has ever made. This is why we can trust Him with our lives.
Peter had denied knowing Jesus, but Jesus did not deny Peter. We may falter and fail, but GOD a does not want us to focus on our failures and shortcomings. He wants us to focus on Him. Our lives are not adjudged by Him by how faithful we remain, rather according to His faithfulness and the work that was accomplished at Calvary. He does not want us to fall to temptation, but He knows there will be times we fall. No matter what we remain beneficiaries to His endless grace and eternal love.
After His resurrection, Jesus went to Peter and reassured Him of His eternal love. God’s plan for Peter’s life had not changed. God’s plan for each disciple’s life had not changed. Jesus encouraged His disciples to not give up. We too must put our complete trust in our faithful God. He is the avid who is trustworthy and will never let us down!
A preacher spoke about God and how he views our unfaithfulness. This is a paraphrase.
Imagine you come home to your children sitting around the table. Their faces are turned downward and they have been crying. They are in despair and disappointed. You ask what is the matter, why are they so sad and upset. One of them speaks up, well we are sitting here worried and afraid that there won’t be enough money to keep the lights on, or fill the fridge with food, or pay for this house. We just do not think you have what it takes to provide all we need. We need clothes and shoes. We need food to eat. We need protection from those who want to harm us. We need help with our homework, but we just do not think you can provide, so we have all decided that we are going to have to leave and go provide for ourselves. We are going to have to protect for ourselves. We are going to have to find our own understanding and way because you are not able to do that for us.
This is us when we turn away from our Heavenly Father and stand in His throne room and decide God is not good enough. It could be lies we believe, doubt, fear, but the influence is no excuse. We flat our tell our Creator, you just are simply not enough. You are incapable of providing. I will trust myself to take care of me and that is all I need.
The wonderful news, even in that moment, God loves you. He is a gentleman and will not fight with you. As you walk away he will still be there with you. It breaks His heart to watch one of His children turn away from Him, but he is not a God who forces us to serve Him, to be surrendered to Him or to trust Him.
Do you trust God with all of your life? Do you put on a good show to everyone on the outside, but secretly on the inside you are only doing what you will. What hinders your complete trust? Take it to Him today and confess and admit it. He is thee to help you through learning to trust Him.
