God blesses us so we can be a blessing to others.
God saved us to be examples of His love grace mercy and forgiveness to others. Many of us get this idea the only reason for salvation is to save us from an eternity in hell. God saved us to serve as an example to others His work in and through a human life.
Eternal life is part of God’s plan but not the sole reason for our salvation. God saved us so that we might reflect His nature. He saved us that we would be His people on this earth, doing the kinds of works Jesus Himself would be doing if He were walking in our shoes. God desires to manifest Himself to the world His character through our personalities and giftedness.
When we allow Him to work through us, we become His vessel. We allow the Holy Spirit to be His love in action and by our surrender, we become His witness. God calls us to serve one another as Jesus did. He did not save you or call you to service so you could be exalted, glorified, or put on a pedestal. No, He saved us so we could serve Him and others and through our serve God be exalted, glorified and worshipped. When we serve Him we honor Him.
We mistakenly think that what we do in our daily lives is unimportant to God, but that is far from the truth. He has a plan for each one of us. When we make the decision to walk by faith, He reveals His plan to us. That plan always includes service and dedication to Him and to those He brings into our lives.
God loved us so that we would love others as he does. He blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others. This is truly what the Christian life is all about.
As God has blessed me over this last year and a half, He has always put someone in my path to share that blessing with. It might be a need financially that God has given me extra to help with. It might be discovering a truth in His Word to be shared with another. It might be giving some on thing I have extra of to someone in need. The best part is as I obey the Holy Spirit’s prompting to give, it comes back double. I do not give to get, I give to be a vessel for Him to help others. Just because I might give money to someone in need does not mean I get double that back. Sometimes the blessing is something quite the opposite, but just as extraordinary!
“Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure— pressed down, shaken together, and running over — will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.””
Luke 6:38 CSB
