God assumes full responsibility for our needs when we obey Him.
A question to ponder: Do you really believe God is able and eager to meet all your needs?
In times when the season of our life seems to be going perfect, that is always a yes. But when the seasons change and we encounter a storm, when difficulty arises, the darkness of problems loom they often wonder where God is and if He is truly able to provide. The Lord is not only capable of meeting our needs, He also is able to satisfy our deepest desires.
I know I have questioned this reasoning…a lot! I know God is capable, but will He? Does He care about my struggles? Can He not see the battle I am in?
We all come to these questions at some point in the journey. There is a deep principle we need to root in our hearts. That principle is how to focus on our faith when we are in the midst of a storm. God is committed to meeting our needs, but He needs to know that we are committed to serving Him, first.
Over the past year and a half, one of the biggest battles is getting out of “knowing” and actually putting legs to trusting. We all know God will, but do we trust Him enough? How many times have you told a fellow brother or sister in Christ Philippians 4:6-7 and on the way home from meeting them you worried the entire way about how you were going to make the rent? How many times have you told others that God will provide, but deep down, you are anxious over tomorrow?
Faith requires a complete trust in God. There will be moments we have absolutely no idea what His plan is, but we still need to trust in Him. God’s ways and understanding is higher than our own (Isaiah 55:9). He knows tomorrow and we just need to trust in Him. God allows circumstances to unfold in our lives to lead us to trust Him more.
Think about all the people in the Bible who trusted and gained wonderful victories: Moses, David, Jeremiah, Elijah, the disciples, Mary, and so many more. Often times, God asked them to do something that seemed insane and crazy on terms of the world. Moses was used to lead an entire nation out of the hands of Egypt. David stood before Goliath. Mary was told she would conceive from the Holy Spirit. They all had one thing in common. It was not perfection, but willing obedience. You see, they did not obey to get what they wanted. They did not use obedience to try and manipulate God. They obeyed because they trusted God.
God knows our hearts and when we are truly surrendered to Him. He knows our motives. He knows our intentions. He know to whom and what we are devoted to. You can not fool God. You can fool others, but not God. When we are truly living in obedience, trusting Him completely, He goes to work for us.
We can count on God’s love, wisdom, power, and grace. He had never failed and is not going to. He’s the God who cares. He is the God who will provide what you need at the right time. When she does, it will be well more than you could have ever imagined.
Ponder: When can God ever be charged with neglect or abandonment of His children?
Obedience is the key. Trust is the legs of faith to walk obediently.
